Westover Manor is arguably one of the finest houses in North Texas in both size and quality of construction. Built as the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's "Home Beautiful", it was the flagship of Fort Worth's most prestigious suburb, Westover Hills. Westover Manor was the home of John E. Farrell, a co-discoverer of the celebrated East Texas Oil Field. A rare and substantial Texas approximation of an Anglo-Norman manor house, Westover Manor has had additions and subtractions over the years but retains its overall integrity. It meets National Register Criterion A for its role in the development of the remarkable Westover Hills suburb, Criterion B for its association with John Farrell and Criterion C for its exceptional architecture.
