Site of the seat of justice for all Western Ky., 1793-1798. Logan Co. citizens erected two story, four room house of cedar logs, 1792, for first Logan Co. sheriff, Wesley Maulding. First court was held here, 1793. Also used as inn and tavern where members of court and visitors lodged. Then it was considered to be the most elegant house in the Green River country
