“Fightin’ Joe” Wheeler

Rockdale County is located in the state of Georgia and has a rich history that dates back to the early 19th century. In 1870, the county was established from portions of neighboring Henry and Newton counties. It was named after the surrounding rocky terrain known as the Rockdale Ridge.
