Nectar Covered Bridge
8 mi. SW of Nectar, Nectar, ALIn June 1934, the county commissioners ordered the construction of a high water bridge to replace the old low water bridge over the Warrior River. The bridge was to be built by Zelma Tidwell who was to receive $3.00 a day and his carpenters to be paid $2.00 a day and common laborers $1.25. The cost of lumber was $17 per thousand board feet. According to Tidwell, additional workers were supplied by the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, which at that time was supplying workers for county projects.
