Old Bean Place
Marker installed: 1964
Built 1841 by John English (1793-1868), landowner, using trees growing here. English slaves cut sills, joists, lumber by hand. Used pegs, square nails. Original structure covered now by modern materials. Two pegged doors still in use.
Since 1870 property of the George Pleas Bean family.
