English-Poindexter House
206 W. Twenty-eighth, Bryan, TXAn excellent local expression of a modified L-plan dwelling from the early 1900s, paired with a near-alike house at 204 W. 28th. Both apparently were built by J.W. English in 1907 and purchased by M.J. Dansby in 1920. William Poindexter, who served as supervisor of the WPA surplus commission in the late 1930s, assumed ownership in 1922.
Local significance of the building:Listed in National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
