English-Dansby House

204 W. Twenty-eighth, Bryan, TX

An excellent local expression of a modified L-plan dwelling from the early 1900s, paired with a nearly identical house at 206 W. 28th. Both were apparently built for J.W. English in 1907; purchased in 1920 by M.J. Dansby and passed on to R.M. Dansby in 1921. Dansby operated the American Steam Laundry and was a city commissioner in the late 1930s.
