Eller Apartments

113-127 8th St., SW, Albuquerque, NM

The Eller Apartment building is significant in the state; it is, as far as we know, the only remaining apartment building in New Mexico designed by Henry C. Trost, the best known architect in the southwest during the first quarter of the 20th century. Although the building is modest in scale in comparison to Trost's major buildings in Albuquerque(see below) and break no new ground architecturally, it clearly shows his sure use of proportion and appropriate detail. It has been hardly altered and is one of only five remaining apartment buildings in the city built before 1925.
