Location: The current owner has slowly been clearing the site and taking out all of the brush. When he purchased to the site 12 years ago, it was so overgrown that the graves were not visible. This is a black cemetery that was associated with a black church that burned many years ago. The church was on Trin-Lady Road, across the street from the cemetery. The most recent burial is 1960s. The site is no longer active and the area surrounding it is used as livestock pasture. There are many unknown and unmarked graves. The site is on the edge of woods and the true bounds are unknown.From Trinity, SH 19 NW to the county line and Trin-Lady Park Road. East, cross railroad tracks, and follow road south a total of 3 miles to landowner Dan Golden's private property on east side (2500 Trin-Lady Park Road). Follow gravel road into property and turn immediately left as road turns. Follow .2 miles to cemetery on SW side. There are about 35 unmarked graves.

To address the problem of cemetery destruction and to record as many cemeteries as possible, the Texas Historical Commission offers the Historic Texas Cemetery designation.

The Historic Texas Cemetery designation was developed in 1998 to help protect historic cemeteries by recording cemetery boundaries in county deed records to alert present and future owners of land adjacent to the cemetery of its existence. Every county in Texas has at least one cemetery designated as a Historic Texas Cemetery through this program. The HTC designation is the first step toward preservation of a historic cemetery.

A cemetery is eligible for designation if it is at least 50 years old and is deemed worthy of recognition for its historical associations. The very nature of a cemetery being a landmark of a family’s or community’s presence is considered to validate the criteria of historical associations. Any individual, organization, or agency may submit a request for designation.
