Robinson-Macken House

702 Rio Grande St., Austin, TXThe Robinson-Macken House was built for a prominent Austin entrepreneur, John Henry Robinson, and is a rare and intact example of a wood-frame Second Empire residence. The Macken family, which later purchased the house, were entrepreneurs and bankers, and were active in the religious and public life of Austin. The house has survived several alterations, additions, and a move. Because of its style and the people who lived in it, the house is of historic significance and interest.
