Rogers-O'Daniel House

Rarely would a radically altered Queen Anne residence warrant listing on the National Register of Historic Places, but the Rogers-o 'Daniel House in Fort Worth is the exception. Built as a substantial, late Victorian farmhouse, it was transformed in 1925 into its present American Foursquare appearance by Wilbert Lee (Pappy) O'Daniel, populist governor of Texas 1938-1941 and U.S. Senator 1941-1948. The Warner Road address was his home for most of his political career, as well as during his years as a radio personality with the Light Crust Doughboys, when he first achieved fame.
