Born in Jackson, Mississippi. Fought in the Texas Revolution in 1835. Served as sheriff of Jasper County, 1841-1842. Married Miss Sicily Beatty in 1842. they had eight children.
A farmer and rancher, Isaacks was the first postmaster at Tarkington Prairie, 1853-1854, at that time in Liberty County. He belonged to Baptist church.
Upon his death he was buried at Tarkington Prairie. Remains were reinterred here in 1970.
The Battle of San Jacinto fought on April 21, 1836, was the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution, and led to the capture of Santa Anna and the end of the conflict.
