Granbury Railroad Depot

Marker installed: 1984

Representative of early 20th century rural Texas train stations, this depot was constructed in 1914. It replaced an earlier station that had been built when the railroad came to Granbury in 1887. The depot features wide overhanging eaves and a red tile roof. Although passenger service to Granbury had stopped by 1973, the depot stands as a reminder of the important role of the railroad in the city's history.
