Gebhardt Bakery

a.k.a. Page Building

119 E. Franklin St., Hillsboro, TX

The Gebhardt Bakery's fine brick detailing and contrasting, rusticated, stone headers make it one of Hillsboro's most architecturally significant commercial structures. It also represents one of the commercial center's best-preserved, early-20th-century buildings. Established by Charles Gebhardt in 1901, the Gebhardt Bakery was not moved to this brick building until 1905. After Gebhardt died in 1920, the business was taken over by his son-in-law, Albert Farmer.
