Marshall US Post Office

Houston St., Marshall, TXThe Marshall U.S. Post Office is eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places for its association with the federal government at the local level and as a significant example of federal Classical Revival architecture from the early twentieth century. After its construction in 1914-1915, the building provided both a federal presence and postal services in Marshall through 1950, setting the building in the 50-year period of significance mandated by the National Register. The building, which is an outstanding example of a federally designed Classical Revival government building, is one of the few remaining historic buildings on the courthouse square in downtown Marshall.
