House at 1435 Heights Boulevard
1435 Heights Blvd., Houston, TXThis vernacular house with Queen Anne's influence is an example of the upper, middle-class houses that once lined Heights Boulevard. It is significant because it is one of the best preserved and most intact examples from this early developmental stage of the neighborhood. Houses on Heights Boulevard were controlled by the developer, Omaha, and South Texas Land Company, through deed restrictions as early as 1893. This house and its neighbor at 1437 Heights were built for Rev. Benjamin A. Rogers as a rental property using the same design. They are known locally as "the twins."
Local significance of the building:Listed in National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
