Oriental Textile Mill

2201 Lawrence St., Houston, TX

Built originally for A. R. Morey and Company, mattress manufacturing, in 1893-94; was one of the first industrial complexes in Houston Heights; is the last of those early structures remaining, and is still in use. Best known as the site of Oriental Textile Mill; this mill even had a complex of small homes for many of its workers, which have been razed; employed many residents of the western section of the Heights.
