Sims, O. B., House

1408 W. Main, Waxahachie, TX

The Sims House is an outstanding example of the most common regional plan type. The L-plan is a Victorian elaboration of the traditional two-room with a center-passage plan. Most of the house's original fabric is intact. The dwelling is one of the city's finest illustrations of the synthesis of a traditional house form with Queen Anne-style details. The structure was built for O. B. Sims, a successful cotton broker, who owned the house until the 1930s.
