National Compress Company Building
503 S. Flat, Waxahachie, TXIn operation by 1895 with S. P. Locke as president, this is one of only two, intact, cotton-related structures still stand- ing in Waxahachie. Its successful operation greatly contributed to the city's rapid growth during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It operated as the National Compress Co. from the 1890s until the 1970s, and it still functions as a cotton compress.
Local significance of the building:Listed in National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
