House at 712 East Marvin
712 E. Marvin, Waxahachie, TXThe U-plan was a Victorian modification of the L-plan dwelling, first appearing in the late nineteenth century when picturesque forms were favored by builders. Built in limited numbers, this house is one of only two unaltered U-plan structures in the city. The dwelling's original owner is unknown, but attorney E. P. Anderson, Jr. owned the house by 1916 and lived there until his death in 1923.
