The Forrest House presents an unusual melding of the bungalow, Prairie and Neoclassical Revival features. It served as the home of W. B. Forrest, who operated a florist and nursery on the rear portion of the property. The greenhouses still stand and are in operation; therefore they are included in the nomination. The Forrest Floral and Nursery, later Forrest's Greenhouses, operated into the 1950s.
