Ennis Cotton Compress

111 E. Lampasas, Ennis, TX

One of Ennis' earliest industrial enterprises and in operation by 1889, it served as a cotton compress and warehouse co. It has been vital to Ennis' cotton industry for almost 100 years. Joe Baldridge was the first president of the company. Two shed additions were built in 1917, but they burned in the early 1920s. Later additions were completed in 1953-54 and should be considered noncontributing.
