Burns, Arthur, House

This 2-story residence was built in 1893 for Arthur Burns, who was the son of a prominent DeWitt County cattle rancher. This structure reportedly was built by Cate Cudd, foreman of the Burns ranch in nearby Jackson County. Burns maintained extensive landholdings in Jackson, Borden, and Dawson counties, raising livestock on the lands. This structure is a noteworthy local example of Victorian domestic architecture.
