Meissner-Pleasants House

This house appears on the 1881 bird's-eye maps of Cuero, and tax rolls list Edward Meissner as the owner from 1880, the first year such records were kept, until 1891 when R.A. Pleasants purchased the house. Pleasants purchased the house. He contracted to make improvements on the lot that same year and the front ell was added. The original house features Greek Revival detailing. In 1903 F.A. Taylor, a dry goods merchant purchased. It stands today as a noteworthy example of vernacular architecture in Cuero and incorporates some Greek Revival detailing.
