City Water Works
208 S. Esplanade, Cuero, TXThis facility has served as the city water works since 1910. The oldest structures in the complex are the brick pumphouse that faces onto Esplanade and the concrete-lined reservoir. By 1930 another pumphouse was built on the south side of the lot. Few alterations and additions affect the historic integrity of this complex which has noteworthy examples of Romanesque Revival-influenced architecture. The plant's continued operation since the early 20th century is a tribute to the engineering of the waterwork's original designers and builders.
