Breeden-Runge Wholesale Grocery Company Building
108 N. Frederick William, Cuero, TXThis building, constructed in 1911, served as the offices of the Breeden-Runge Wholesale Grocery Co. until 1939 when the Victoria-based Groce-Parrish (later Groce-Wearden) Wholesale Grocery Co. became owners. This structure is Cuero's best preserved and most architecturally significant warehouse building. It stands near a spur of the railroad, near the textile mill. The business that was built and originally occupied this building was one of the most important commercial enterprises in early 20th-century Cuero. Although it was one of several wholesale grocery supply businesses based in Cuero, it arguably was the most successful and had a distribution network that reached much of SE Texas.
Local significance of the building:Listed in National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
