Roberts, Dr. Rufus A., House

This house is the most architecturally ornate house in Cedar Hill and is the oldest in the city. A charming example of a Stick Style house, this structure belonged to Dr. Rufus A. Roberts, one of the town's leading early citizens. Dr. Roberts came to Cedar Hill in 1859; he served in the Civil War and then returned to Cedar Hill, where he practiced medicine and opened a drug store. He was instrumental in bringing the railroad to Cedar Hill. Dr. Roberts continued his practice until around 1900 when he passed it on to his son.
