Kirkpatrick, E. W., House and Barn
903 Parker, McKinney, TXE.W. Kirkpatrick was one of McKinney's most prominent and influential citizens of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A Confederate veteran, he purchased land in the McKinney area as early as 1872. In 1887 he established a nursery on these grounds and maintained a pecan orchard on these grounds. In 1901-02 he built this Queen Anne-style residence and the barn. Kirkpatrick was a principal financial backer of the Collin County Mill and Elevator Co. and was also involved with numerous state and national organizations. He died in 1924. This house stands as one of McKinney's premier examples of Queen Anne-style residences.
