Davis-Hill House
710 N. Church, McKinney, TXThis 1 1/2-story frame dwelling, a variant of the L-plan house, was probably built for R.L. Davis, a local physician. By 1922 J.S. Hill was the owner and it remained in the Hill family until 1968. Although many similarly detailed houses still stand in the city, this is one of the best preserved. The unusual roof line, one of the structure's most distinctive elements, includes a steeply pitched hip roof that extends over much of the house and also gabled and clipped-gable extensions. The original jigsawn- and turned-wood detailing remain in good condition.
Local significance of the building:Listed in National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
