Crouch-Perkins House

205 N. Church, McKinney, TX

Joe H. and Clara Crouch built this house soon after their marriage in 1887. In 1906 they sold it to businessman F. Dudley Perkins and his wife Daisy, and they owned it until 1919. The house displays Queen Anne style detailing, a popular architectural mode in late nineteenth-century McKinney, and this dwelling remains one of the city's best examples. The intricate turned woodwork on the porch and the keyhole window near the primary entrance is particularly noteworthy. Although the windows in the 2-story corner tower are obscured by louvered blinds, the house retains almost all of its original architectural detailing.
