Board-Everett House

507 N. Bradley, McKinney, TX

Forest Oak Board, who served as the city secretary and city tax assessor and collector from the 1890s through, at least, 1910, is believed to have built this house. In 1893 Mr. and Mrs. T.F. Everett were owners and they maintained possession until 1934. This house stands as one of the city's primer examples of an L-plan dwelling. The small inset balcony above the front entrance is a distinctive element of this structure. The L-plan is one of the most common vernacular house forms in McKinney and this house is one of the best preserved.
