Stevens Building

315 E. Commerce St., San Antonio, TX

The Stevens Building is one of the most important 19th-century commercial buildings extant in downtown San Antonio. The three-story structure was designed by J. Riely Gordon, perhaps Texas' most noted turn-of-the-century architect, and displays his interest in the use of contrasting materials and stylistic elements. The structure was built for John J. Stevens, a prominent businessman in San Antonio.
