Lawrence, G. E., House

2005 Chestnut St., South, Lufkin, TX

A good example of the style; Mr. G. E. Lawrence was a builder in the Lufkin area, G. E. & Helen Lawrence collected the rock locally, and a stockpile remains for work not completed.

The house and ornamental lawn features constitute an excellent example of the Craftsman/Bungalow style of architecture by utilizing local "naturally beautiful" materials including petrified wood and stone. Area not shown on 1927 Sanborn maps. The area of significance is architecture at the local level.
