Beaver County Courthouse
Off US 270, Beaver City, OKThe Beaver County Courthouse is significant because it demonstrated the citizens' commitment to local government during the peak years of Beaver County's growth, 1910-1929. The present courthouse was built around the original, 1907 cut-stone building in 1926 at a cost of $96,000. The central location and long history of the courthouse serves to remind the residents of Beaver County how important law and local government were to the founders. S.S. Strong, a local builder, built this courthouse as well as the first high school and first hospital in Beaver County.
Local significance of the building:Listed in National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
