A vital commercial area in the 1890's this solid building typified commercial structures during Lima's growth period (population tripled ~1,000 to orse 21,000 from 18301 1400) after the discovery of oil. Significant for its early use of yellow brick, outstanding architectural style, and details including Luxfer transoms, and cast iron posts.
