The Apple Tavern is a significant building in Guilderland, and is today a popular destination for travelers and stagecoaches. The building was a significant part of the development of Guilderland and has been a common stop for travelers and stagecoaches for centuries.

Known as "Apple Tavern" this building has been a significant part of the development of Guilderland. Located on the Schoharie Turnpike it was a frequent stop for travelers and stagecoaches. In 1803 the tavern was the site of the first Town Meeting when Guilderland was incorporated. Now a residence, the buildings remains intact and a significant historical element of the town. Substantially altered in the 1880's, the building is distinguished by -a two-story portico with a central, second story balcony. The formal-and imposing character created by the incorporation of these elements is unusual for such an isolated, rural structure of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The building displays considerable architectural significance relative to its surroundings of contemporary suburban development.
