Lake Estancia

This large valley was occupied by ancient Ice Age Lake Estancia some 12,000 years ago. To the north, the Southern Rockies rise to altitudes of 13,000 feet; to the northwest are the Ortiz and San Pedro Mountains; to the west are the Sandia Mountains, and to the southwest are the Manzano Mountains. Elevation 6,200 feet.
