The Phinney's Lane Burying Ground possesses integrity of location, design, materials, workmanship, feeling and association. It is significant as the only non-residential extant component of Centerville's original 18th century settlement center, and for the artistic quality of its gravestones which include the full range of 18th and 19th century types. It thus meets criteria A and C of the National Register of Historic Places.
