Nez Perce Village

( Marker is on U.S. 12, 1 mile east of Nez Perce Road, on the right when traveling east.)

This important archaeological site - occupied for 10,000 years or more. has at least 10 pit houses as much as 5000 years old.

Idaho was once home to one of the largest sawmills in the world. The Potlatch Lumber Company, which was based in the town of Potlatch, produced more than 2 billion board feet of lumber between 1906 and 1956.
