The residence, barn, pump house, and shed of the Water Canyon Administrative Site are significant for association with the history of the development of the U. S. Forest Service and the Federal response to the Depression in Arizona. They are also significant because they embody a distinctive style of architecture developed by the Forest Service during the Depression Era. The Period of Significance dates from 1933, when the first building was constructed, to 1942, which corresponds to the end of the Great Depression.
