The Carson City Civic Auditorium is significant under Criterion A because of its association with the theme of "Depression-Era Relief Efforts" (as outlined in the Nevada Comprehensive Preservation Plan). The Auditorium is also significant as a rare example of a monumentally-scaled Romanesque Revival-styled building in Nevada and therefore qualifies for the National Register under Criterion C as well.
