Well-known representative and state senator Ben Johnson (1858-1950) was born and lived most of his life here. This native son was a member of Congress for 20 consecutive years and served on Ky. Highway Commission under 4 administrations. The house was built in 1856 for Ben's father, William Johnson, who was state senator and lieutenant governor of Kentucky.
