Gunshop Site
William Stephens, Sr., gunsmith by trade, came to America from England with his two sons, 1832. They traveled overland, then down the Ohio to the Green River, where they bought 150 acres in 1854. The gunshop operated from 1855-61, when Stephens' two sons joined CSA as gunsmiths and ordnance workers. Shop reopened after the Civil War. Operations discontinued in 1868.
